Distinguished Flying Cross Ellacombe, John Lawrence Wemyss (43031) (Livingstone/Rhodesia, February 28th, 1920  - May 11th, 2004) April 7th, 1942; Acting Flight Lieutenant, No. 151 Squadron "This officer is a keen-and courageous fighter pilot. Although he was severely wounded in the Battle of Britain, Flight Lieutenant Ellacombe immediately resumed operational flying upon recovery.
