"For decorating himself by excellent deeds of courage, merit and loyalty, by, on October 17th, 1948 at Negororedjo (Eastern Java), during a cleaning up operation on a bold matter, as first and alone entering an enemy command post of the opposing forces, from where heavy enemy fire was received, and disabling the five men strong, weaponed with a light machine gun, among who was the commanding officer of a T.N.I. (Tentara Nasional Indonesia, Red.) group of about 80 men strong and his deputy.
By his bold appearence in this and numerous other actions, in which he participated and gave notice of fine policy as platoon commander, he was an excellent exemple to his men."
