Wildon, Austria, November 12th, 2005

Awarding according to the War Diary ("Kriegslebenslauf") by Johann Sailer and an entry made in his Soldbuch. Recognized by the Ordensgemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger and by W.P. Fellgiebel stated to have been awarded by Sepp Dietrich on May 6th, 1945. Both awardings to the Ritterkreuz and the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold (March 19th, 1945) in the Soldbuch seem to have been added later to the last entry in the Soldbuch of the Nahkampfspange in Silber and are in a different handwriting. No formal evidenceto both the awardings (RK and DKiG) have been found with the Bundesarchiv or any other official records.
