March 19th, 1945; SS-Obersturmführerder der Reserve, Führer 4. Zug, SS-Panzerjäger-Abteilung 9
Awarding according to the War Diary ("Kriegslebenslauf") by Johann
Sailer and an entry made in his Soldbuch. Both awardings
to the Ritterkreuz (May 4th, 1945) and the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold
in the Soldbuch seem to have been added later to the last entry in the
Soldbuch of the Nahkampfspange in Silber and are in a different
handwriting. No formal evidence to both the awardings (RK and DKiG) have
been found with the Bundesarchiv or any other official records.
