Fliegerschützenabzeichen für Bordfunker und Bordschützen




History
The Air Gunners Badge, basicly known as Abzeichen für Fliegerschützen and formally known as Fliegerschützenabzeichen für Bordfunker und Bordschützen, was instituted on January 19th, 1935. The badge was to be awarded to personnel that was qualified as Air Radio Operator and as Air Gunner. The recipient had to succesfully end the specific course and participate in at least five operational flights. In 1942 an additional version was made for personal qualified for Air Gunner and Mechanic. This version did not have the lightning adapted and was formally known as Fliegerschützenabzeichen für Bordschützen und Bordmechaniker.
